These terms cover this website and the activation guide on it. They are written to be read, not to be got past.
Agreeing to them
By using heretherebread.com you agree to what follows. If you do not, please stop using the site. You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, or to have a parent or guardian agreeing on your behalf.
What is on the site
The words, photographs, films, drawings and code here belong to Here There Bread unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to read the guide, print it for your own kitchen, and share a link to it. You may not republish it as your own, sell it, or use it to train a model without asking us first.
The guide is guidance
The activation guide describes how the starter behaves in our kitchen. Yours is warmer or cooler, your flour is milled differently, your water is not our water. We cannot promise a particular result, and following the guide is something you do using your own judgement.
Use your senses. A healthy starter smells sour, yeasty or faintly of alcohol. If yours grows fuzzy or coloured mould, turns pink or orange, or smells genuinely foul rather than sharp, throw it away and start again. Do not taste anything you are unsure of. If you are pregnant, immunocompromised, or feeding someone who is, take ordinary care with home-fermented food and ask a doctor if you are in doubt.
Allergens
Our starter is a wheat culture and is fed on wheat flour. It contains wheat, which is a major food allergen, and it is not gluten free. It is handled in a kitchen where wheat is present. If you have a wheat allergy or coeliac disease, this is not for you.
No health claims
Nothing here is medical or nutritional advice, and nothing we sell is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Sourdough is bread. It is very good bread, and that is the whole of the claim.
Buying things
The shop is not open yet. When it is, the terms of sale, shipping times and the returns policy will be published here and will apply to orders in addition to these terms.
Other people's sites
We link to Instagram and TikTok. What happens on those services is governed by their terms and their privacy policies, not by ours.
Where the site may be down
We offer the site as it is. We try to keep it up, accurate and safe, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we give no warranties beyond those the law will not let us exclude.
Limits on what we owe you
To the fullest extent the law allows, Here There Bread is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of this site or of the guide, and our total liability for anything connected with the site is limited to the greater of what you have paid us in the previous twelve months or one hundred United States dollars.
Some states do not allow certain limits on liability or the exclusion of implied warranties. Where that is so, the limits above apply only as far as that state permits, and nothing here affects rights you have that cannot be waived.
Doing right by each other
If something goes wrong, write to hello@heretherebread.com first. Almost everything is solved that way, and we would rather solve it than argue about it.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will say when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after that means the new version applies.
